A pioneer in maternal-fetal medicine and ultrasound in Romania, a mentor for numerous generations of specialist doctors and residents, with a remarkable medical and teaching career spanning over 44 years. His scientific contributions include the publication of 150 works, 8 obstetrics and gynecology textbooks, and one in general surgery, to which he has contributed as an author and co-author. Notable are the three volumes of medical books dedicated to obstetrical and gynecological imaging and the ultrasonographic screening of fetal anomalies. He has authored 3 courses for students and delivered lectures at over 170 scientific events. Professor Dimitrie Pelinescu Onciul is a member of 11 prestigious Romanian scientific societies and 7 international scientific societies. He served as the National Coordinator for Obstetrical and Gynecological Ultrasonography and Maternal-Fetal Medicine from 1998 to 2012. He is also an accredited lecturer at the Ian Donald Interuniversity School of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Vienna International School of Ultrasound (VISUS). |
